Vocational Strategies Incorporated
(formerly:  Copper Country Workshop, Inc.)
Vocational Strategies Incorporated was originally established as Copper Country Workshop in August of 1970, as a Michigan non-profit Corporation.  The Board opened the facility with a staffing grant from the Michigan Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Service.  Clients were accepted and work orders for wood products were solicited in the district.  The Board sought to establish financial support and coordinate services of local and state agencies.

In 1984, through funding from HUD and Michigan Rehabilitation Services, the agency moved its operation to a new facitlity, located in the Houghton County Airpark.

The mission of Vocational Strategies Incorporated is the planning, establishment and coordination of vocationally oriented rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities, aiding them to become productive and self-sufficient citizens.
